The Cuthberts are here!

Hi everyone and welcome to the latest update. I’ve been quiet for quite some time for a reason, I wanted to be able to present all the research I have on two generations of the Cuthbert family at the same time. It’s taken a lot of hard work but well worth the effort as I now feel a real connection to these people who were just names and dates before. I enjoy the research process anyway, I wouldn’t spend as much time on it if I didn’t and I am very happy with how this has turned out.

I found that my great grandfather Samuel was orphaned at the age of 10 along with his three siblings of 12, 6 and 2 years old. This started me on a real rabbit hole of a trail as I wanted very badly to find out what had happened to these children. I succeeded with all but one who continues to elude me. You can read all about the others, including Samuel in the ‘what’s new’ section.

I know most of you receiving this update are more interested in the Jubb side of my family but I do hope you find these stories from my Scottish roots interesting too.

What’s New?

If you have missed any previous updates, you can find the rest of them and any other blog posts HERE. Or just have a click around the site and see what you can find.

Coming next…

As we have booked a holiday in Scotland this year, I will be sticking with the Scottish side for a while now, researching the Reilly family, my dad’s maternal grandparents. Again I have names and dates but am looking forward to digging a little deeper to find out more about their lives.

As always, let me know if you see any stupid mistakes or need anything at all explaining further.

Until next time, remember…you can’t choose your family.

Best wishes

Jill xx
