Tulip Homepage

I was so excited when I found the name Tulip in my family tree because it seemed to me such an unusual name, I’d never heard of it before, I thought it would be fairly easy to research. Wrong! It turns out to be a common name in the North East of England and as always, first names are repeated over and over in families of the past that I really struggled at first.

The earliest one I have found for certain is my 3 x great grandfather on my mother’s maternal line, John, born 1789 in Ovingham, Northumberland. See below for his descendant chart through 5 generations to my mother, Annie Jubb born 1920.
